What is JROTC?

JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. This program is degsined to "Motivate Young People To Be Better Citizens", which is the mission statement.This program is based off a military vhain of command, where students will tehen be able to participate in the School Battalion, upholding responsibilites, and leading other cadets. The curriculum teaches manyskills suchas leadership,orginization,responsibility, public speaking, as well as many other skills needed for every day life. JROTC is four (4) years of curriculum, which means that after the 1st year the student can decide if if he or she will like to proceed with the progarm for the next three (3)years of high school. Cadets can also participate different teams including: color guard, driil team, step team, rifle team, raider's team and exhibition team. 

Will my child be obligated to join the miitary beacuse of JROTC?

No, JROTC does not bring any obligation's to join the military.

How much time is needed to be put into the program?

JROTC is a program that "gives you back what you put in". All students of the seminole battalion are asked to join AT LEAST ONE team, however he or she can  join how ever many teams they wish.

Does this program teach combat tactics?

No, this program does not teach combat tactics.

Does my child have to wear a uniform?

Yes, every cadet is responsible for wearing their uniform once a week, which is usually on Monday's.

Are there any fees for uniforms?

No, there is no fee for uniforms, however once he or she signs that they have recived their uniform and later on the uniform is misplaced, stolen, and etc. then that child is held resbonsible for what he or she no longer has.
